I have to wonder what effect these moves for very good players will have on a player’s rating. I’m negotiating for a player that’s moved to SA and have Demiral and Brozovic so I wonder if they’ll just collapse next year or gradually fall.

That’s what I was wondering. I would think it wouldn’t have too adverse and effect and maybe the FM folks will have to keep their on that league a lot more now. I only have the mobile version for iPad, but is the league even in the game? I wonder what effect that would have.

@Zizou How about this, whatever the Saudi clubs paid for our players we get that amount in Dynasty Liga currency if we so choose? 😉

I feel like FM always boosts players at bigger clubs , bigger leagues to properly rate the clubs themselves. And vice versa – so I’m assuming a move to Saudi pro league will nerf a players ratings

Think about it – wouldn’t be a good look for the engine if Saudi teams are beating good European clubs in sims

While I think it’s generally smart to eventually divest your teams of players that have moved to Saudi/Qatar (fucking Bamba) because of the inevitable rating tank, I don’t plan to fully do so myself. Since the chance to maximize my return on Ruben Neves has come and gone, I plan to keep him around and hope his spell in Saudi Arabia is a quick one. There will be other players that you may benefit from remaining patient with especially if they leave Saudi Pro League.

This is of course assuming that players in that league do have their ratings eventually gutted as is expected to be the case. It might not happen by next year but I’d definitely expect to see changes reflected by FM25.

I think the biggest concern would be will these players be in FM24? Best I can find is that there is an unofficial database available on Steam.

Only Mahrez so far. Not a disaster considering his age.

I had Talisca for a while when he joined Saudi before it was cool. Worth noting his ratings didn’t plummet drastically and I don’t think this will be the case for other players who have made the move. There will be a bit of a correction for sure but I doubt they’ll drop 20 CA points or something similar.
