Correct. Blaugrana has up until the trade deadline, which expires after the last new free agent bid clears 24 hours, to acquire a backup U21 goalkeeper unless JR counter bids and frees him up to make a bid which would have to come in the next 4 & 1/2 hours. All things being equal, this is a poor allocation of bid time, IMO, but the previous counter bids also didn’t help either. Unless he can pull it off and engage in a trade prior to but time is running out and due to the timing of this counter, JR is in control somewhat.
What am I in control of? Whether I want to overpay for a prospect on the 14 day of free agency? I left the spot open and perused through my now short list again to see if I should pull the trigger now on anybody. I didnt bother trying to protect the bid because Ive never had to before. Im happy with my picks so far. Hoping all my moves work out, but I’m not in control of anything even this
