Nobody is gonna go to all the trouble to update attributes on thousands or even hundreds of players. Somebody might do db update with transfers but I wouldn’t bet on it. Maybe add new young players.
But there’s no money in and there’s no point to it. And even if they did, the numbers they come up with would have no influence on SI’s new game.Best case scenario is the new game is released in November as usual and the last update/patch comes out in a year.
Between seasons 19 and 20, we did a combined squad (prem/champ/u21) league that was pretty good (Season 19.5). I’d suggest the same thing but make it two divisions. Prem would be best combined squad, champ division would be your second best combined squad.
Personally, I think another season as usual with this version of the game would be boring.
Z is doing the work so I’m good with whatever he decides works best for him.

February 9, 2025 at 8:12 am #19830Actually there are numerous DB updates with updated ratings out there. I just don’t know if they’re good.
February 9, 2025 at 8:13 am #19831Though it’s not as if FM ratings were always great either.
I’ll test one this morning.February 9, 2025 at 12:57 pm #19832Yeah I just saw this one.

February 9, 2025 at 1:30 pm #19834I tried one this morning from fmscout.
It’s decent but it seems half the players have been forgotten in terms of CA updates.
Example : Lucas Bergvall is starting some EPL games but is rated 101 like a year ago.February 9, 2025 at 1:48 pm #19835End of the day it’s an inconvenience, but we’re all in the same boat in terms of ratings bumps, so it’s at least fair either way. I’d say stick to FM24, if we can get an update, great, if not, it is what it is!
February 9, 2025 at 4:38 pm #19836There should be about 3/4 different fan-made db updates (none will be comprehensive but just looking online I’ve found quite a few). More will be made in the coming weeks and months with this news.
My idea is at the end of this season, we post a few of these for league members to look at, and then do a poll to decide which one to use for next season.
Just an idea
February 9, 2025 at 5:11 pm #19837I agree with that. We should get some good ones by then.
February 10, 2025 at 2:47 am #19838Some of us have planned on FM ratings bumps (for example on my team, Yoro, Doue, Ben Seghir, Akliouche, Cherki…). So it’s tough to play another season with current ratings.
But yes the problem is finding the right DB.With all due respect mate, ALL of us have planned on FM ratings bumps. And I’m sure none of us want to see the same DB used, but it may be the best option.
February 10, 2025 at 7:14 am #19839With all due respect I think some have not planned a year ahead.
And I don’t think it’s the best option really.
February 10, 2025 at 7:21 pm #19841I’d argue that simply anyone who made a successful bid on a U21 player, or traded for one for that matter, planned a year or more ahead.
Fact of that matter there aren’t a lot of good options if a lot of options overall. We’re essentially at a point of continue with the current DB or take a shot at a someone else’s. Of course there are other options which I won’t introduce into the dialogue here, but of the two that leaves you with someone else’s DB. I’m not seeing that as some sort of silver bullet without seeing the DB first and even then it’s just my opinion. And I consider myself as having as much to lose based the overall development as anyone.
February 12, 2025 at 2:45 am #19844We will be proceeding forward as normal next season, only with FM24. I have a plan for next season that I’ve discussed with X4L but still need to flesh it out fully before presenting it.
But as for clubs, you can change them. As for graduations (2002), they’re still going to happen. As for retirements, kiss them goodbye.
And hopefully we catch FM on the back-end of next season. FM’s health and Sega/SI is critical to the league’s long-term viability, IMO. So we need them to catch us after next season. But as for planning in the interim, you should plan accordingly in terms of a year-end transfer window.
If you want my advice, hold off on posting any new trades until near season’s end when you have a clearer picture of what next season’s changes will look like.
February 12, 2025 at 8:30 am #19845It turns out I unfortunately spend a lot of time in hospital waiting rooms these days and will do so for the next few months.
If you guys agree I can try to update the DB I mentioned above with new CAs (PAs is useless right now). It already has updated quite a few players.
I can do it for all the players we own.
Of course I will submit to impartial judges here so they can upgrade or downgrade what I did.February 12, 2025 at 9:20 am #19846It turns out I unfortunately spend a lot of time in hospital waiting rooms these days and will do so for the next few months.
I have a weird sense of humor and anything that comes to mind might (would likely) be offensive so I’m just gonna stfu.
February 12, 2025 at 9:49 am #19847Sorry james.
My 21 year old kid has cancer.
I know you have issues of your own and I’m sorry.
But yeah I do have some time to kill in those waiting rooms..
I’m buying a new laptop next month so if everyone agrees I can try to work on something. -
