Nice, James. And I hate onions too.
Nice, James. And I hate onions too.
I love onions. I put them on everything. My wife never liked onions but now will eat them so we have to buy more. I was wondering why the onions were disappearing so fast.
one of my favorite movies. available for free on youtube.
Nice! Chuck Bronson is the shit.
Anybody going to the WC? You can sleep in a tent in the desert! Doesn’t that sound great?
So I started watching the show “Pistol” on Hulu, which is about The Sex Pistols. If you catch it and you’re tempted to stop watching, make sure you watch the beginning of the 2nd episode (for reasons that will become very obvious). Anyway, there was a song played during the end credits of episode 1 that I’d never heard before. It’s from 1964 and was a worldwide hit by Jamaican artist Millie Small.
The song has an interesting history and I found out it was a cover of a 1956 song by Barbie Gaye who had an amazing voice for a 16 year old. It reminded me of Ronnie Spector. Phil Spector would have made Barbie Gaye a superstar.
I searched YouTube for more music by Millie Small and found a cover of one of my very favorite songs “Bring it on home to me” by Sam Cooke (my favorite version is by The Animals).
I love it when I go web surfing and find stuff like this.
NPRโs Fresh Air had Island Records founder on today or yesterday and he mentioned Millie Small as he brought her over to the UK back then when she was 16-17. Interesting interview with the guy, but could have been longer and delved into more of the artists the label had.
