Yeah, you definitely have some guys I’m curious to see going forward. That said I can understand how life gets in the way. Hopefully you come back some day because it’s nice to have competitive GMs. Best of luck to you!

So as you guys know that we currently have a rule that Championship teams should be European based teams that are outside the top 75 list of club coefficients (UEFA). I wanted to propose an alternative: A Championship team should be selected from any league outside the top 5 European leagues (EPL, Ligue 1, Bundesliga, Serie A and La Liga).

If someone wants to keep the current criteria, then we can have a hybrid system where we have a team from the top 5 leagues but they have to be outside the top 75 in club coefficients.

Sad to see you go Luigi, but hopefully you come back soon. Family is always priority so I can understand. Take care man!

Luigi and Roberdino as some of you may already know will be leaving us after this past season to focus on other things. I’ll keep this thread open for Bob to post something publicly, should he want to. I’ll quickly share something personal. When I joined effliga, I was a year removed from losing my brother in an accident. I was a man of hobbies who suddenly found no desire for any of them. X4L was a really good friend by this point and got me into the league, as it presented a good distraction for me to sink my teeth into. I fell in love, led a coup and eventually made it into something better. Having done this now 10 years and having grown into having more hobbies, demands from work and a personal life, I wondered when I’d stop. The answer for me is no time soon. But I understand if those outside demands for others change things for them after time. And I can only applaud Luigi & Bob for making the responsible decision to step away to focus on more important things. Know that the door is always open should you want to come back.

Because we won’t have the ability to expand teams for next season, we will instead have a replacement owner to take over Luigi and Bob’s players and both of them will be introducing themselves soon.

I’ll respond to the other questions or proposed changes about next season in another thread.

Unfortunately, I’ll be departing DL. It’s not a decision I take lightly. I’ve really enjoyed my years with such a fine group, and my football knowledge has expanded exponentially thanks to you all.

Like Luigi, I feel that I haven’t been able to dedicate as much time as I would like to managing my teams. But perhaps the real challenge has been that the competition has gotten SO damn good over the last few seasons that I need to bring my A game every round.

I’ll definitely leave open the possibility that I’ll rejoin DL in the not-too-distant future. I’m gonna miss everyone’s humorous and insightful postings, as well as that child-like thrill of clicking on the match results each week and seeing how my teams performed.

I’d like to especially thank 2 people — Mikey and Erick. Mikey for doing such an amazing job running this league. Your dedication is impressive and your musings and analyses on football are not just brilliant but poetic.

And Erick for bringing me into this league and being a constant mentor and sounding board. Your love of football is infectious, and why LAFC has not hired you as a scout yet is baffling to me!

In any case, I wish you all the best!
